Lend Lease are currently building the JCU Science Place Building in Townsville.

The five level, 12,000 m2 facility will be built within the University’s Science and Engineering Precinct, and will accommodate projected growth in student and staff numbers in Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry over the next decade.

It’s the biggest project ever undertaken on the Townsville campus.

DM Group was engaged to provide full structural steel documentation of the building totalling approx. 255t of structural steel and cold rolled steel.

Interesting facts;

• Project required 4,825 detail drawings to allow the steel fabrication of the project.
• DM Group office broke this project down internally into 12 separate packages to allow teams of draftsman to work simultaneously on delivering the documentation.
